In October I lost my unemployment. Roughly 1400 a month. Plenty of cash to pay the bills. No sweat. Then I signed up for FIP which is a little over 600 hundred bucks a month. A decided dip in the funding. It covers the bills, but barely if that. Anyway, one of the requirements of FIP is that I get all my teachers to sign a time sheet to prove that I have been in class. They are all pretty cool about it. So far. Three new teachers next semester to see how that goes.
Anyway, when I'm not in school for these two weeks I have to do forty job searches a week. That's a lot. A lot of job searches. I think when next semester is over I may have to do volunteer work instead. That would be preferable at this point.
Anyway, here's what I plan on doing. These are my job skills;
Retail
Cooking
Baking
Printing
Customer Service
The last two jobs I had I lost for no other reason than downsizing. I am good at what I do. Oh and I write well. Not sure how that will work out, but I thought I would mention it.
Anyway, I'm going to post this on my Facebook account. If anyone knows of employment opportunities that I might be missing in the Kalamazoo area could they please forward this information to me?
That would be great.
I will be going to school in the Winter, but classes don't start until four each day, with the exception of Tuesday which is all day and I have all weekend, including Friday class free!
Thanks for all your support.
I know return you to your regularly scheduled blog.
"600 hundred bucks a month". Wow, that's - What? - $60.000 a month. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry, couldn't resist. I really wish you all the best for the New Year. Fingers crossed all will work well with either your job search or your projects (or both!). Some of the requirements are just stupid. 40 job searches a week is ridiculously high and will lead to nothing. It's purely a quantitative measure. 4 high quality job searches that fit your profile are a thousand times better than 40 one-size-fits-all blitzes that'll lead nowhere.
