Alright, yesterday I got that off my chest so time to crank it up a notch.
I would like to address employers.
And before I get there remember I am discussing about 98 percent. I am allowing for that rare two percent who realize that human beings work for them.
They do not give a damn about you. Oh, they do care about you showing up for work. They like the money and they don't want to have to do the job themselves. They pay you as little as they can get away with. They want all the cash for themselves to be the snotty, rich dipstick that we all love to hate.
Employers wonder about work ethic and don't realize that they are the ones creating the negative work ethic.
You do realize that your employer would pay you less, but the law won't allow it. If they could, they would. End of story.
IN the employers perfect world you would work twice as much for half as much. There would be no such thing as overtime and weekends.
You would be there to feed the employer's machine of pure, unadulterated greed.
While I might have issues with certain aspects of government, the fact that they have even bothered to make sure that worker's have some rights, is commendable.
Well, expect for the whole 'At Will' thing.
'At Will' means that any employer in Michigan can fire you for no reason whatsoever. It's as simple as 'Hey you! Yeah, you're fired.'
Employers do not care about you. I cannot emphasize this enough.
So, what's the solution?
Win the lottery?
Open you're own business, with the ideal that you won't be that jerk employer you worked for?
Sounds good.
Until you are paying all the bills and those damned employees seem to think they should get paid as well.
I remember working for a restaurant many moons ago and the guy would offer to buy our checks from us. He gave us our paycheck and then had a stack of cash to pay you with.
Seems that he couldn't afford for us to go to the bank.
Worked for us and worked for him. He was actually a nice guy. Too bad the restaurant went under.
I have a single rule working for an employer;
Do not, under any circumstances, mess with my money. If it's payday and I don't get paid, I get angry. Incredible Hulk kind of angry.
I have done my fair share of jobs and this one rule has been tested at almost all of them. It's a power trip for the employer. They hold your life in their hands.
This is why I always say;
Employers don't care about you.
At all.
Unless you are that lucky two percent I mentioned earlier. If you are, I have one question;
Any chance you are hiring?
