Martha and Dandy and Dan and I decided to go for a bike ride down to the library. This is a bike ride we have done dozens of time.
This one was so full of suck that it boggles my mind.
First, we get to the first section of the trail and I m missing Martha.
Seems she went back to get library cards.
Then, the trail intersects with actual roads four times. Patterson is always busy, but never this busy. And all of the intersections are busy.
What is going on here?
When we get to town one of the two main roads, Kalamazoo, I think. I have lived in Kalamazoo for decades and there are two one way roads that intersect down town. One is Michigan and one is Kalamazoo, but, for the life of me, I never remember which is which. Anyway, they dug this huge hole in one of the main intersections and traffic was a cluster.
One of my pet peeves is people who barrel through an intersection in their car even though the traffic is not moving. Then they block the other traffic. The light turned in our favor and we decided to get off our bikes and walk the crosswalk.
Some idiot in a red car was continuing through the intersection without looking in our direction.
I yelled, "Look up!" and about gave the person a heart attack. It's one thing to see people yelling at you, but I look like a viking or the biggest Tolkien dwarf you have ever seen.
I thought it was funny.
So, by the time we actually made it to the library we were pretty frazzled. The kids played on the computer and looked at books. Dandy checked out some manga. Martha checked out a book called One Hundred Demons and I read some comics from the rack.
Then it was time to go get ice cream sundaes.
By the way, we passed the intersection with the giant hole.
It was pretty impressive. Dan thought it was cool.
